The Challenge
COVID-19 crisis, oil crisis, economic crisis. Some of the mayor challenges we're facing at the moment. Businesses are probably facing the most complex circumstances since WWII. Going back to normal is unlikely. Society, business, economy, politics, everything is in the process of changing and a new normal is being conceived.
However, most businesses are occupied with guaranteeing continuity, and probably feel that the future is ambiguous (unmeasurable uncertainty). How can you take control over the future and redefine strategy, leadership, business operation model, products?
How will the future, after the COVID-19 crisis, look like?
Most of us already long for the return to normal. But it is unlikely that this will happen. Well yes, to a new normal!
The world is in the process of changing, and a new normal will emerge at the end of these crises. Those companies who will innovate now, will be the new leading players in the future.
Our Solution
We have designed a program to help organisations and teams to visualise possible future contexts and create a clear vision of your new normal. Based on research and future trends analysis, we identify different scenarios. Together we will define, based on these scenarios, what will be the most likely future context for your organisation, team, product or service. Using various techniques such as visual design, rapid prototyping, storyboards, business theatre and virtual reality are among the possibilities to help build a more concrete vision of this future context.
This will help you to define the future relationships your company, team product or service will have with this future context, and eventually construct a clear future vision of the role you want to play in this future. This is where reversed visioning kicks in. Let's say we built a future vision of your organisation in 2030. We will leap back and define what goals need to be reached in 2025, 2022, 2021, and eventually 2020.
Benefits of using the Reversed Visioning process:
The future you want
A comprehensive methodology that combines solid research & analysis with creativity and design thinking principles. The methodology allows you to let go of short-term operational worries and transport yourself into the future. You build your own future context and the role you want to play in it. Creating, preparing and leading for the future you want.
User engagement
People of your organisation will be fully engaged in a creative development process; they will form an integral part of the end result; they will learn and grow during the process, being able to repeat it later themselves.
Interaction oriented
During the process the focus lays on the understanding of the interactions; between the “user” and the product, service or organization, but also with the future context. The redesign will be based on a profound understanding of those interactions.
Creating by visualizing
The imaginary dynamics in the process are supported when possible with visual design techniques to make abstract concepts more concrete for the participants in the process.
Learning by playing
Learning is accelerated by using games and simulators, mostly used to understand behaviour or a process.
With the help of actors, we can recreate scenes to analyse current issues or design future desired behaviour for a service, organization or the use of a product.
Abstract vs. concrete
